Our Team

Dr. Betsy (Berends) Meinel, a proud Medford native, grew up attending Medford Area Public Schools before beginning her journey in optometry. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and earned her Doctorate of Optometry, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the Illinois College of Optometry. During her time in optometry school, she discovered a deep passion for vision therapy, which she is thrilled to bring back to her hometown.

In 2019, Dr. Betsy founded Beyond 20/20 Vision Therapy, a practice dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults by enhancing their visual function. Whether it's improving reading ability, reducing eye strain or headaches, or enhancing ocular flexibility and function, she is committed to empowering patients to achieve their best vision and quality of life.
 

When she’s not at the office, Dr. Betsy enjoys staying active in the Medford community alongside her husband, Andrew, and their two daughters. The family loves exploring Wisconsin, cheering for the Brewers, and staying busy with hobbies like swimming and baking. Dr. Betsy and her husband are proud to raise their family in Medford, a place they’re grateful to call home.

Amy Kampmeyer was born and raised in Unity, WI, and is a proud graduate of Colby High School and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She has been a dedicated part of the HealthView Eye Care Centers team since 2000, earning her Certified Paraoptometric status in 2001. In 2022, Amy expanded her expertise by joining Dr. Meinel’s Vision Therapy practice, where she works closely with patients to help them reach their vision goals.

Amy’s passion lies in one-on-one interactions, where she helps patients improve their eyesight and gain confidence in their abilities. She enjoys watching their personalities shine as they become more skilled and independent in how their eyes function.

When she’s not at work, Amy lives in Colby with her three boys. The family enjoys spending time outdoors, and participating in activities like fishing, hiking, and traveling. They’re also active in their local 4-H group. Amy stays involved in her community by volunteering at her church, school, and various local events, bringing her caring nature to everything she does.
