About the Doctor

Dr. Betsy (Berends) Meinel was born and raised in Medford and attended the Medford Area Public Schools. She attended the Illinois College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While in optometry school, she developed a special interest in vision therapy and is excited to bring this branch of optometry to her hometown.

Outside of the office, Dr. Meinel is active in the community as the head coach for the Medford Senior High girls swim team. She also enjoys playing with her dog, watching baseball, baking and traveling. Dr. Meinel and her husband Andrew are happy to call Medford their home.
